What about applying 3 cents worth of grease on the pivot points? I've always greased my mechanical clutch mechanisms. Makes them quiet and smooth.
That should be routine maintenance, and will be in the future. But it still needs to be fixed or replaced at some point soon. Mine is actually worse than my boy's, who's truck l was originally posting about.
l even mentioned to him that Ford shoulda installed a zerk fitting instead of a crappy plastic bushing. The bushing was a much cheaper part and l don't think Ford expected these trucks to be around as long as they have... we were supposed to be in flying cars by now.
