I posted a thread a few days back thinking my torque converter was bad, though the miss got worse pretty quick and was difficult to start and wouldn't idle.
I replaced the UVCH and valve cover gaskets, several wires, especially to glow plugs, were in bad shape. Fired it up and the miss is still there. #3 wasn't putting out much of any oil, seemed to improve a little after it ran for a minute or two, though oil output definitely looks diminished compared to others.
CCT kicked out P0269 (#3 imbalance) and a few buzz tests put out code P1273 (#3 high low open), though all the injectors, including #3, buzz fine.
Just want to confirm I'm not missing anything and that #3 is dead/dying. Is there anything else I should do to rule out wiring issues or can I assume the mechanical side of the injector is kaput?
If you have a high low open code then you're probably dealing w/ a wiring issue. That code won't(shouldn't) pop up because of a performance issue. If you haven't checked continuity between the 42 pin and the IDM connector that would be my next suggestion. There is a pinout for the IDM connector in the tech section explaining the procedure.
Have you checked the resistance across all the injector solenoids? I believe the spec is 2.8-3.5 ohm's, I may be a little off but should be in that ballpark. Truthfully consistency is the most important. Also if you haven't already check the 42 pin for wear or damage at the driver's valve cover. The placement of the injector wires in the connector tend to put them in the line of fire if/when the harness rubs on the valve cover. If it does turn out to be the injector showing it age, a lot of folks have had good luck switching to synthetic oil. The lighter cold temp viscosity help w/ flow through the injectors.
I haven't ohmed out the injectors, I was trying to skip steps thinking that the lack of oil at the injector combined with a good buzz ruled out other items.
