Changing coolant today and noticed a collection of oil. Is this “normal” or is it an indication of a problem just beginning to develop?

To get help sooner and more useful the forum will need to know more about your truck. Year, engine, mileage and so on.

Looks to be your intercooler and cold side pipe? I'm no expert but I do believe it is normal to have some oil in there because of the ccv. Over time it looks to have seeped out a little. As long as there are no cracks in the pipe I would think you are ok.
