What do ya'll pay for insurance on your Excursion?

I was just looking at my insurance for all 3 of my vehicles. My 2003 Excursion 4x4 cost me more to insure than my 06 Corvette. On the surface that doesn't make any sense to me. Thought I would check with ya'll before I go ballistic on Liberty Mutual.

I have Hanover Citizens. Yes, I pay more for my 01 EX than (I did) my 07 Shelby. Once I put my 16 yo son on the policy, everything went up so much, I put the Shelby with Grundy.

I think it costs more because of the size and age. Or maybe because they know it'll be technically totaled for something fixable on another car, like your vette.

In the winter I'll be putting storage on the EX as I fix the RH dogleg and do some other little fixes. Will be down for a couple of months so will save some money.

Yeah they said the Excursion has more potential to do more damage/injure bc of it’s size/weight. They would be right. It’s about $1800 for the year including all discounts and clean DMV record. I’ll be shopping our coverage next week.

Out son will be 16 next June. Let the games begin!! Ha

My child is grown and out on her own, so no longer affects my insurance. Here in Fla, I have my 04 Ex insured with State Farm for around $1200 a year. I have my 69 and 07 Mustangs insured with American Modern as "Collector Cars" for less than 1/2 that. I just insured my 15 F350 also for around $1200 a year but I also just got some checks in the mail for my multi car discount.

I pay about $500 a year for my 2003 Excursion diesel. Full coverage, 250 deductible for Comp and Collision. But, also have my wifes SUV on the policy, house and camper while on different policies still give a discount. We have Progressive Insurance.

I have USAA insurance. They have the most competitive rate I could find. Only condition is, is that you have to be/have been employed with one of the armed forces.
I would like to find an insurance company that will do a “stated value” policy where if I say my Ex is worth, let’s say, $40,000 and it is totaled, I’ll get that amount vs. a couple of thousand dollars. Insurance companies that do offer stated value policies make you promise you won’t go over a couple thousand miles a year.

About $1200. per year full coverage in S Fl. Costco insurance which is now called Ameriprise.

Never had a claim or ticket.

If you don't shop your insurance policy at each renewal, it ends up costing more. Like in my case! I have had this policy for years and the rate goes up at each renewal.

I am sure I can probably save some money if I shopped around. S Florida is highly congested and many uninsured/unlicensed drivers. So rates are higher than other states.

Insurance rates have a lot to do with the city and state you live in. Crime and accident rates for your area are figured in as well as your record.

This is large factor for higher pricing on the EX

Try Costco insurance. I've compared them to all of the preferred insurers and found Costco to be the least expensive. You can get a quote in minutes online...
