Had my 2017 CCSB 6.2L in for service due to difficulty shifting into drive. It would shift, go 10-20ft, and then the transmission would lock up to a skidding stop in 1st. Otherwise shifted fine once I got going.
Transmission was down 3 quarts. No sign of a leak anywhere. I park in a garage and not a drop of fluid to be seen. Checked the transfer case to confirm it wasn’t full of fluid (bad input shaft seal), and nothing….
Good questions. I’m at 55k. Never had the transmission serviced. The last time I had checked the fluid it was probably around 30k. All was good then. I bought it new with 20 miles on it in 2018.
The engine could eat the ATF in the older cars when the vacuum modulator leaked. Nowadays it’s hard to imagine the fluid disappearing without a trace. Even if it was puking out the vent you’d see the trails.
