New Forscan TPMS mod

2022 350 Superduty dually. I notice the other day that Forscan had a new (to me) mod that you could check. It showed Enable Auto learn TPMS. When I restarted the truck, my TPMS readings started blank then one by one showed pressure readings. I'm hoping that they are the actual readings from the correct wheels, As I had my tires rotated a couple months ago, and never changed my TPMS to the correct sides. I figured I'd just remember that the right wheel was left and left was right lol. Now I'm not sure which is which. Hopping that the auto learn actually learned the correct sides. Anyone have an input, or tell me how to verify which tire is which?

I just received some rims and tires with the TPMS sensors already installed so I am interested in learning if this forscan function will save me a trip to the dealer or local discount tire to reset the tpms sensors to my truck.

As for your question, I would just air down one of tires and compare if the known tire low in air matches the tpms wheel on display.

That was going to be my next step, but sheer laziness kept me from doing it lol

you could reset the TPMS yourself by just following the procedure in the owners manual. Takes only a couple of minutes.

It actually takes more time than that.. you have to deflate and re-inflate each tire. Sort of time consuming on a Dually

I guess your right, its not quite a couple of minutes, but less time than taking it to the tire shop. A dually would also take a bit more time than a plain ol' 4 wheeler.

You only have to let a little air out of each tire until it recognizes.

I have a 22 f250 and took it to the dealer for tire rotate. When I was driving home I observed the front tires at like 68-69lbs and the rear were at like 62-63lbs. I thought to myself, ****, they didn’t do the relearn process, so I’m going to have to do it when I get home. But after about a mile they swapped in front of my face as I was watching the screen. So I presume they ‘auto learn’?

That's how it works on my '17 after I rotate the tires. I don't know if that is the "auto relearn" feature or not. But it sure is handy to not have to pull out my TPMS tool.

I wonder why they don't mention that in the owners manual? Because I'm convinced now that it is in fact "auto learning" the positions of the TPMS.
