1966 F100 Automatic
I've been fighting with my short-bed to get it in park. I've fought with it so long that my shifter seems stripped. Truck runs great. A mechanic friend of mine came over, and he was able to get it park. Under the hood, he did it by hand. He doesn't think it's the linkage. He thinks it something worn out in the column. The arm works, it just feels stripped. Any thoughts for '66 dummy?

What transmission? Is it the original or a transplant? If original all you can do is pull the column out and dissemble it. Determine what's worn out then pray you can find all the parts to repair it.
