Here is breakdown from LMC catalog. There are other Ford truck suppliers who have simular schematics by running search on their catalog web site. If does not take you to the actual parts diag. then go to page 90.

http://www.lmctruck.com/icatalog/fb/0090.asp

If you should find part you are looking for, strongly suggest not ordering online but rather contact them and inquire if item is in stock, if not, go to the next supplier. Many of the Ford parts supplier's have small inventory and have to order the part from their source and it can take weeks even thought they may say they can get item in couple days.

Anyhow, hope info is what you are looking for. You may want to add the horn brush to your shopping list while you are at it, save on shipping cost and handy to have extra.

[Please list the year and model and 2 or 4WD of the vehicle you are working on, I'm not a mind reader. Not all the steering columns are the same. 1961/64 is different than 1965/72. 1965/72 uses a similar setup to 1973/79, but the parts are different numbers. One (1975/77 sleeve) is a Ford only item, not supplied from the aftermarket world]

.
1965/66: What top bushing? No such thing. There is an upper and lower steering column bearing (LMC#19) and plastic sleeve (LMC#15). These parts are the same for 1961/72, and are still available from Ford and NAPA. These parts also are used on 1960's Falcons and Mustangs so they are easy to find. The LMC illustration does NOT show the bearing/sleeve at the bottom of the steering column, but they ARE there. Use white grease liberally on the bearings before installing them, do NOT install the bearings dry!

1965/66 F100/250 upper and lower are the same parts.

2-C3DZ-3517-A .. Upper or Lower Steering Column Bearing

2-B1AZ-3518-A .. Upper or Lower Plastic Sleeve

Sorry to bump an old thread, but I thought if folks were Googling the info, I'd go ahead and save them the time I spent looking for these parts.

LMC truck catalog page 56 has the parts and exploded view of the column for the 71 and 72.

LMC part number for the bearing is 45-0740

LMC part number for the sleeve is 45-0795

There is also a seal below the bottom bearing shown in the catalog, part number 45-0762.

Hope it helps the next guy who finds this thread!

Bill,

62 F100 3 SPD manual on the column.

Im having trouble finding the correct part number for this seal. It’s at the end of the shift linkage tube, inside the column.

Id also like to replace the column end cap where it meets the steering gear box.

Thanks in advance.

I’d also like to replace the column end cap

That's the bellows style boot. Here's some older info from Bill. He's actually already answered every possible question multiple times so all you have to do is read all of his older posts....lol.

Not that this will help much - I see nobody seems to have any of that part number. Perhaps is it being reproduced?

Thanks TA

Another Q; what type of grease should I apply at the top of the column during reassembly and what type to apply via the fitting at the bottom of the column?
