I forgot that where you live, you are an hour away from everything. I guess you would have to drive to Redwood City or San Jose in order to get groceries and whatever else. At least these days, most stores offer a delivery service. Some poor Door Dash or Uber Eats driver has to drive an hour up to your place to deliver Indian food or whatever, they get whatever you tip, and then they have to drive back an hour. I hope Jim doesn't get a Door Dash alert to bring you Fresno's finest.
No delivery here. We live on a private road with a private controlled-access gate. If we had any kind of delivery we would have to provide them with a gate code so they could get in, and then rely on them to get to our house. We don't even get packages (or mail) delivered here. We rent a private mail box up the road a ways. The people who manage that hold our mail (securely) and give us a jungle when we have something large.

The clinic said that since he had Kaiser, he should go to Kaiser, because his shot was already allocated to Kaiser. At that time, I thought it was because of limited supply. In today's world, where there is an ample supply, can a Kaiser patient go somewhere like Safeway, Walgreens, a public health facility, or Costco for a Covid booster? It would sure make it easier. Just get a shot the next time you are picking up groceries.
Not for "everything". When they first started issuing COVID shots, we went to the county fair grounds along with most everyone else. That was a pretty efficient drive-through operation that went very quickly. I think we can still do that.
If we need medical care when we're traveling, we can go to other providers and Kaiser will compensate us. Inside California, Kaiser covers just about everywhere.

That saves you $5 every year. You don't have to buy Halloween candy. On my block, I haven't seen trick-or-treaters for at least a score in time. As in "4 scores, and 7 years ago". Better that way. Safer. Kids don't get hit by cars. Kids don't get apples with razor blades. Kids don't get poison candy.
I think razor blades and poison are urban legends. As a kid, I never got an apple. Who gives out apples? In the course of my entire lifetime, I don't recall one legitimate event, anywhere in the country, reported by a reputable news outlet, where someone was able to poison a batch of commercially packaged candy, causing mass casualties.. I remember the Tylenol scare. There was the baby food tampering in England. But the trickl or treat scares are just that. A scary story.

It is almost completely an urban legend. Over the last 60-70 years, there have only been a couple of instances of children being harmed by tampered candy. OTOH, a half-dozen or so kids get hit by cars every Halloween.
I recently listened to this "Cautionary Tale" about the myth of tampered Halloween candy.
Over the 26 years we have lived here, we have had trick-or-treaters exactly zero times.
I have been here in my current apartment for six years, and never had any kids come to my door. The first year I was here I bought a bag of Kit Kats, and something else I liked (but can't remember now what it was) just in case nobody showed up. After that, i just didn't buy any candy.
