talked with my VA Liasson yesterday, and although they don't have a consolidation loan option, they do have a temporary fix option, or they have a subcontracted organization who will provide the fix. He will let me know on Monday (he only works four days a week, must be nice) if they will cover the $150, I am short this month, plus next month's payment, and possibly December's payment as well. I figure if I can make it to January, then I should be okay as long as the government actually does give the 8.9% raise in my SSDI check that they are claiming.
I got the bivalent shot yesterday. I don't feel a thing. No side effects. Got up this morning, had my usual beer for breakfast, and only peed a little blood. Not a lot. So everything is normal.
Did you guys know that you can order monkeys in the mail? Apparently, they ship in boxes. Just like Amazon. If Jim orders one, it will get delivered to the Asian guy.

I was scheduled to get the bivalent shot on Thursday, but woke up Thursday morning with a terrible cold. I took a COVID test, and came up negative, so I had to call and cancel the appointment. They tell me to wait a few days after the symptoms go away and reschedule.

How far do you have to travel for that? Is scheduling an appointment something that Kaiser does? In San Francisco, I can simply show up. No appointment. They also gave me a flu shot. So convenient. Since I was already there, and my sleeve was rolled up. The flu shot was free also. The City is making it too easy to get vaccines. Anybody can get the COVID booster or flu shot, by simply walking in. They don't care where you are from. Even people who don't live here. Which makes sense. More than half of the daytime population doesn't live here. They work here. It makes no sense to tell them to go back to their own city.
So, if the Grey's Anatomy character does not show her anatomy why is it called Grey's Anatomy? I am going to sue for ten billion dollars. This way I can pay all my bills off and have some money left over.
I've been watching the new Quantum Leap. The lead role is a Korean scientist, who leaps around in time. If this propels Asian males into sex symbol status, I'll sue for defamation of character.
It looks like in Thailand, spatchcock chicken is split at the breastbone, then butterflied with the backbone in the middle. I'm used to seeing spatchcock chicken where you cut away from the spine, then remove the rib cage.

Yah. We schedule through Kaiser. They have an appointment system, but I think they probably also take walk-ins when people don't show for an appointment. I think it helps them avoid waste of vaccines that have been thawed too long. We don't live in the city, and it's about an hour drive. It's a long way to go to find out they can't provide a dose.

That's the way we do it. Cut out the spine (no serious meat there anyway), and then crack the breast bone to flatten it.

I forgot that where you live, you are an hour away from everything. I guess you would have to drive to Redwood City or San Jose in order to get groceries and whatever else. At least these days, most stores offer a delivery service. Some poor Door Dash or Uber Eats driver has to drive an hour up to your place to deliver Indian food or whatever, they get whatever you tip, and then they have to drive back an hour. I hope Jim doesn't get a Door Dash alert to bring you Fresno's finest.
Just wondering how Kaiser worked. When you have Kaiser, do you have to go to Kaiser for everything? Or can you go to other places, show them your Kaiser card, receive services, and then they bill Kaiser? When the first dose of Covid vaccine was released, one of my Dad's friends, who is in his 80's, was turned away at San Mateo Health's clinic. The clinic said that since he had Kaiser, he should go to Kaiser, because his shot was already allocated to Kaiser. At that time, I thought it was because of limited supply. In today's world, where there is an ample supply, can a Kaiser patient go somewhere like Safeway, Walgreens, a public health facility, or Costco for a Covid booster? It would sure make it easier. Just get a shot the next time you are picking up groceries.

Me too. Just cut the ribs along the spine with a pair of poultry shears. But the next time I get a whole bird, I'm going to try that other method. Cut the bird along the breastbone. Flatten it with the spine in the middle. I wonder if it's any easier, or makes a difference.
