I swapped out my hot air intake for a cold one what steps should I have taken to be sure my computer in my f150 recognizes it
So you went back to the factory air inlet? datalogs show there really isn’t much adjustment other than what the ecm does for iat temps
if nothing else unhook your battery turn the headlight switched on for about 20 minutes turn the headlight switched off hook the battery back up (negative cable first and last) And then go do a drive cycle

There’s no need for all these gymnastics. None.
Just pull the fuse for the computer for a few minutes, put it back in, go in your way.
First of all I am sober, I also am an amateur female in her 40’s that knows nothing about the names of technicalities of automotive terms. I’ve learned everything that I know, which isn’t much all from this site and my Hayes and my truck being broken down since January. So basically I replaced my original air filter system for a kln, And I assumed it was a cold air system of some type instead of hot because if my face is leaning over it it doesn’t seem to get my face warm like the other did. So if you don’t have any other “helpful” suggestions for a person like me then don’t bother typing anything. Thank you for insulting me

so my reply to steve(iii)offended you? (one can’t make this stuff up)
and now you’re telling us you installed a hot air intake and the truck won’t run? or the truck had issues before? maybe you should explain the whole situation with some details since most folks can’t see thru the internet or read minds
