So this is kind of a goofy one, and it’s not detrimental in any way, I’m just wondering if I can fix it. When I reverse in the pickup, the speedometer goes backwards. Do all the Bricknoses have this problem? I’m just curious. I think it’s pretty funny actually I just want to know if I can fix it. Thanks
No that is not normal. The speedo is cable driven from the trans or t-case in that truck so it's mechanical but I think there is a mechanism like a clutch built-in to prevent it from reading negative and dialing the ODO backwords. And that means the speedo cluster is most likely where the problem lies, but I don't know if there is anything servicable in there. What version of the cluster do you have.. with or without a tach? Either one of these is a direct replacement for the other as long as it comes from an '89-91 truck, if you have the basic cluster this could be an opportunity to get one with a tach, but the only place you may find one is from a junkyard or a part out.

It has a tach and it’s a manual if that matters. Also 4x4. Im wondering if the Speedo cable going into the cluster is upside down maybe?
There is no Right Side Up, or Upside down for the Speedometer cable where it attaches to to the cluster on these trucks. There is something wrong with the "clutch" setup in your speedometer. Assuming you don't care about the Odometer being correct, just hit up your local boneyard, and grab a whole cluster, or just the speedometer out of a cluster and swap it out.
