4.9 shuts off when warm.
Background
So, some background, I just bought this truck that has sat for about 9 months. I knew it had this issue its a 4.9, and basically it will start run and drive when cold, but once it gets to operating temp, it will sputter and shut off. If I let it cool down, it will start again, and drive for about another 8-10 minutes. The cel is on, and I ordered a scanner that will be here Saturday. The truck only has one cat on it at the moment, and has just distilled water in the radiator. Also, the gas gague is not accurate, but I'm not sure if that is part of the problem.

Currently I'm going to put the 50-50 back in the radiator, replace the thermostat as it's only $8. And use the scanner to check the cel

Well when the truck shuts off when hot, check for spark at the plugs could be something electrical breaking down when it gets hot. Check for fuel pressure could be a vapor lock and or pump or relay shutting down when it gets warm.

With a fuel pressure gauge connected to the rail. You can also pull codes from your truck while waiting on your code reader.
Let it run until it shuts down and check then to see if plugs are still firing and then you have a starting point for diagnosing the problem.
Same with fuel pressure monitor it while truck is running and see what it does when it shuts down. Give you a starting point at least.
