I’m brand new to the forum after only having negative input on Facebook. I’ve got a 1996 f-150 with a super tired 5.0. I want to keep the truck as long as possible so I plan on rebuilding the engine. I’m going with a 347 built as hot as I can but still having good manners. The eddy truck intake is out of stock everywhere so I’ll just get a performer rpm and flip the intake to the drivers side. How hard is it to switch to a single throttle body. Do all the vacuum/ coolant lines swap right over? Thanks y’all!
That should be just about identical to a Lightning setup. The only real issue I can see is the throttle cable being different and maybe the EGR stuff. The vacuum and coolant lines shouldn't be a big deal to reconnect to the necessary ports.
I have an intake, throttle body, and a harness for this project. I may have other odds and ends.
The GT40 setup has all the same parts as the trucks they are just moved around. The main part I think you need is a throttle cable and bracket from a lightning. The rest of it can be modified from what you have or can be had aftermarket. An air filter box and tube from a lightning would be nice.
Yout coolant and vacuum tubes will have to be rerouted and shortened or lengthened as appropriate.

Do you have the throttle cable and bracket from a lightning? Getting the cable will be fine, idk where to find a cheap bracket. eBay prices are crazy

I did, but I already sold them off.
Your best bet is to get on the Lightning groups and ask if anyone has one they would part with.
But I have to say this will not be a cheap endeavor. And while there is a cool factor, there is limited to no performance gain depending on what you are doing compared to the stock truck 5.0 intake.
[QUOTE=Hit Man X;20574111]And to add to the last post, why waste the cash on a shorter stroke, shorter rod 347 when a stock 351W is larger in both manners.
I still see plenty of F4TE 351W cores in the yards.[/QUOTE
just for the ease of installation

The Edelbrock I have probably is better than the stock truck intake. It just isn't so much better to necessarily be worth the added expense and trouble to make it work in your truck. That is up to you and your wallet.
If you are on a budget I would highly recommend you start with a good core from a junk yard, and get it done as you can when you can. When it is ready swap em out. If it were me I would build a roller 351, but that is just me. Everything you already have except for the intake and distributor will swap over to the 351.
