Help with finding right parts?

Hey folks.
Truck is 1986 f250, 5L 302 V8 EFI
Daily driver/daily worker
50k original KMs, but sat a long time..

Anyway.

I started doing a tune up --distributor cap and rotor, plugs and wires--but ran into a parts problem. Below is a photo of the rotor thats in the distributor at the moment. Then a photo of the new one i ordered. They are not the same and the new one does not fit, but my parts lady says that this is the only one that comes up when she looks my truck up. Any help with this? The third is a photo of the distributor to show the rust inside the distributor. Im going to try to clean that up. Id love to not have to put in a whole new distributor right away..

Second question: i opened up the air filter box to check on the condition of the filter. It needs to be changed. But then i noticed this little filter that goes to a line that goes to the oil filler cap. Does anyone know the part number for this?? Or what the heck to do with this weird little filter? My air filter box is pretty junky and id be open to suggestions on how to upgrade the air filter entirely..

Whats the part number on the new one she gave you? I looked up a 1986 f250 with EFI 302, and it did show the same one she gave you, plus a round bolt on style. I went to a 1985 f250 with a 302, and it had the one she gave you, the round bolt on style, and it did list the one you have as a push-on style. The part number was WVE 4R1088 I checked Autozone, they also sell all those different types, including your type under a 1986 EFI 302. Their part number is Duralast F981 which looks like yours and they also call it a "push on rotor".

Don't mess with the filter box. You will notice it draws in outside air, not under the hood hot air. Don't be tempted to put one of those chrome pipes with the cone filter on it. The smaller filter is the intake for the PCV system. Air goes through the little filter, down into the oil filler cap, through the insides of the engine, and comes out through the PCV valve in the other valve cover. This keeps the oil and the inside of the engine clean.

LMC truck carries the PCV filter (they call it a breather). See if this link works. https://www.lmctruck.com/1980-96-for...and-components

RockAuto has the filter:

Note it's listed under the exhaust/emissions section. Any of the flat rectangular filters should work. The one with the curved body is for the big round air cleaner used on carbureted models, so is not applicable.

I'd think nearly any local parts store could help you, as long as you ask for a crankcase breather element or filter.
