Usually found drivers side firewall above brake booster or along inner fender same area. Has a plug that needs removed to properly set timing. Takes computer out of the loop.
The spout plug is in the TFI(ignition module) wiring harness... but I'm not sure where that would be in a van... may be on the rad support but could also be anywhere else under the hood. This modulle is mounted in a heat sink and look like this, and that is the spout plug hanging by the orange wires.
Conanski's pic shows a remote mounted TFI module as he pointed out. My 88 van has a distributor mounted TFI module and you can see the spout connector in the harness near by taped to the harness. Some are grey and some are black. on later 80's trucks, Ford relocated the TFI module from the distributor to the fender well and mounted it on a heat sink. I am not sure what year model van you have but I do not believe Ford relocated the TFI module on the vans at least up to 1991. 1992 was when Ford changed the design and body style and I am not sure what they did with the TFI module after that .
