Thanks to 01_Excursion for suggesting swapping the pull handle. Since my original is in good shape, removing It took some careful effort and I still broke a couple key tabs. On the new cupholder I carefully cut away the barb on the two outer tabs the the center tab was released with a small blade screwdriver.
since the tabs on my proper color were broken, careful use of JB Weld was applied. The acid test will be to see if the adhesive holds. Plastic to plastic mated with export should hold.
