Dash Pad

Does anyone know where you can buy a new actual dash pad for 80'-86' F series? I've seen lots of dash pad covers, but no actual dash pads.

However, I was looking at a 96' F-650 the other day, and the dash pad looks identical to the 80'-86' units. Has anyone tried one of these to see if they will fit?

This might be another item for the FAQ?

Regardless, somebody I found but haven't investigated at all (but might be promising) is the

The larger series of trucks DO fit. They are exactly the same and a good place to get dash pads, door panels and doors cheap.

They are still available from the dealer for around $400 or so.

Hey Stosh, do you happen to know what year range we should be looking for, and does that exclude the "normal" 250 and 350?

Up to 96-97 F600 and up should work. I don't know the exact year, but they stayed the same for a LONG time.

I know of about a dozen of them in one yard that I go to. They all have charcoal interiors except for one which is saddle tan.

And FWIW: most of the radio bezels will fit but they are shaped differently. The very top bulges out for the air brake controls.

If you're looking for interior parts for 80-86 F-series,you can find them in 80-86 F100,F150,F250,and F350.You can also get them from 1980-199? F600 and F700 trucks,as Ford never changed the interior in the big trucks.

I have never seen one in any of the yards i've ever been too.Which is either a good thing or a bad thing.I really wish they had them, cause I would love to rob the Cab clearance lights off one for my F100.If i'm not mistaken, they should be the same.

The dash in the medium duty F600/700 etc was the same as the 80-86 pickups up to 1997. The entire cab is the same. In 1998 the medium dutys went to the Super Duty cab.

Here are the Years and models that are interchangeable with the dash Pads and door panels.

1980-1983 F-100
1980-1986 F-150/F-350
1980-1986 Bronco
1980-1999 F-600/F-900

As was said, you can still get dash pads and door panels at Ford, Brand new. This is because the F-600/F-900 used them all the way to 1999 models. Only colors avaliable is charcoal grey for the pad, and light grey for the door panels. They would have to be dyed to match.

Other parts that can interchangeable with the 1980-1999 F-600/F-900, medium duty, with the 1980-1986 pickups are...

Dash Shells
Air Conditioning Registers
Glove Box Liners: The newer ones are hard plastic! (Air or standard heater specific)
Ash Tray
Glove Box Doors
Headliners (rare on medium duties though)
Sun Visors
Cab Lights
Windshield Chrome Trim
Windshields
Back Glass
Whole Doors (although they are drilled for huge mirrors)
Wiper Control *****
Wiper Switches
Wiper Arms
Headlamp *****
Radio (You can update your radio up to a 1999 Ford din mount radio using the Mounting brackets, year specific...)
Radio Bezels (The newer ones are a different unique style but will fit)
Instrument Clusters and components 1980, and 1981-1986 (match printed circut)
Cluster Components (Sadly not the whole clusters, because they went Electronic speedometers in 1992.)

What will not work or interchange

Heater A/C controls
Whole Clusters after 1991 (But some parts will)
Instrument Cluster Bezel
Foot Pedals and controls
Side air vents
Cabs

This is off the top of my head. There may be more that interchange, or wont.

The whole cab is not the same. There are vast differences. Mostly with the floor pan, and firewall.

In 1998-1999 they were making both styles. The "superduty" style, F-600/F-700 and using already built inventory for 1999 models with the older cabs, F-800/F-900.

They did the same thing with the 2004 F-150.
1997-2004 F-150 Bodystyle. (2004's called Heritige)
2004-2008+ F-150 Bodystyle.

And with the 1997 F-250 and F-250HD-F-350HD
