Power Stop Brakes?

Has anyone upgraded their brakes using Power Stop? I tow a 37’ fifth wheel that weighs 12,000 lbs and need to put better rotors and pads on my 2013 F250. They say these are the highest rated for towing but they’re $1200 and I’m skeptical.

$1200 from where?

I've had decent luck with the PowerStop Truck and Tow stuff, although I'm not convinced slotted rotors are anything more than a gimmick

I ran them on 3 F-150's and they performed very well over the stock brakes, and that included towing past GVWR of the truck. My only complaint is after 60K miles they start to make a groaning noise when stopping. On the Super Duty though, I don't know about the rotors. The pads should be good, but if I were to just swap out pads I would consider EBC or Hawk instead. I think the drilled and slotted would be overkill on an already over braked truck. Stick with the OEM rotors and just put on some good pads, save some money. The F-150 had crap pads and rotors from the start, so a Powerstop system was a BIG improvement, but the SD brakes are pretty darned good from the start, better pads can only enhance them.

I pull a 16K 5th wheel and I use stock rotors and Performance Friction Carbon Metallic pads. This is the second truck I've used them on and have never had to replace rotors or calipers, they don't fad and never lose stopping power even under hard braking. They even cleaned up my rotors after making the mistake of trying NAPA pads.

Save your money at put it towards disk brakes on the trailer, you won't regret it

I've been using Power Stop brake components on all my vehicles as well as my family and friends vehicles I work on for favors. They perform well and are affordable and have not had any abnormal failures in the pads, rotors or calipers in the last 6 or so years. That being said, none of these trucks or cars are doing heavy duty towing, driving or racing.

Shortly after purchasing my truck, I put on 35's and went camping in the Sierras. On the way down a large mountain my rear brakes started smoking, they were the stock OEM calipers, rotors and pads and when I got home I verified they weren't seized or anything. I replaced with the Powerstop calipers/rotors/pads and haven't had that issue since. A thing to remember is that the Powerstop calipers are usually (always?) remanned and not new, so keep that in mind... I haven't had any issues with remanned calipers but I think there are a lot of people who have.
