2014 E250: I have a ticking coming from bank 1. Van runs great, good power, no other issues. Shop wants $1500 to pull the valve cover. Leave it and wait until it needs a full rebuild or take care of it now...I have some other ideas, but would like to hear some opinions?

So I have a 5.4L 2v and the reason mine was tick8mh at 86k miles was the rocker arms/roller followers. It cost me around 2k in California (I was temporarily living there) but I also got the plugs and boots done also. This guy has a good video on it.
Good video! yep, that's what mine sounds like, but just not as loud. my local shop wants $1,500 to just inspect. I'm thinking of just trying some MMO in it first and go from there...

Yeah I think the Ford dealer I took it to was the cheapest and they charted me 1600 for just the rocker arms. Remember that's in California though, so pricing is crazy. Call around and find the cheapest one. If you plan on keeping your van forever, don't skimp on this.
have to figure prices everywhere have gone up dramatically now, so everyone else is on California 5 years ago prices lol
I just picked the van up at auction cheap, so my first thought is to run it until it needs a full rebuild and put the money towards that vs spend upwards of 2k now. again the van runs like new now not withstanding the tick and it has 199k on it
