I’m sure this dead horse has already been beat but any experience with aftermarket wheels? My first thought is 18s would have more tire options but I found these 17s that appear to be the correct specs. Thoughts?
Thanks I read through and there is a bunch of good info. I’d love to hear from somebody that is running after market wheels and if they had to use hub center rings or if 125 hub bore is a good fit. Maybe it’s simpler to stick with the old stockers.

I've run 4 different sets of aftermarket wheels. They were either a 16x8 or a 16x10. Currently running 16x10s. I've never used hub center rings and haven't had any issues. I had to buy aftermarket lug nuts due to the fact that the aftermarket wheels are lug centric. I don't tow long distances with the truck, but I made an 8-hour round trip on my current 16x10s and didn't have a single issue.
Are you planning on running bigger tires? Or do you just want a different style wheel?

Mostly I want access to different tire sizes. Long term I think I may have an easier time finding tires for 17, but maybe not as much as an 18. Also I think I would like a skinny 33. Right now I’m thinking 255/80r17.
Ok I gotcha. Are you running a leveling kit at all or stock suspension? There is a (relatively) skinny 33 for a 16 that I've run on the stock wheels before and had no issues. It's a 295/75/16, (about a 33.4x11.5) there aren't a ton of options for that size, but there are a few decent all terrains. With that being said, there are many more sizes and options for 17 and 18-inch wheels.
I'm running 18x9 zero offset, lug centric. No issues. 275/70/18
I really like that tire size, I need to do more shopping around for wheels. Trying to find out from the manufacturer if the wheels I linked are hub or lug centric.
