Tool Compartment handle/lock assembly source?

I suppose I could remove mine and wire brush and paint mine, but I just wanted to know if it is possible to buy one any where?

You mean a complete opening handle/latch/lock? I have not seen one of them for sale. Now if you need just a lock, take the door off and take it to a lock smith.

That's correct they're not reproduced and probably never will be . just too little demand.

I sent mine of an had it replated, cost $40 or something like that. you could tit it with something like Eastwoods bright zinc and probably you couldn't tell it wasn't plated. it's easy to disassemble it and remove the lock so you can do it right

Thanks for the good idea, 440sixpack. I think I will do that—send it out and have it replated. I'm getting ready to pull the bed and do the body work inside and out, and paint it with summit urethane and clear. Do you know a good DIY bed spray system?

Everyone seems to like the raptor spray in kit.

FYI , from personal experience I've learned spray in bedliner is the worst move you can make from a resale/collector standpoint. they hate it, they'd rather see a beat up bed with rust. in my opinion a Pendeliner is the best way to go, you can use your bed hard and if you want it out it takes 5 minutes. figure 5 weeks to remove spray in and it never looks as good as a Pendaliner. .

X2 on I'd skip any DIY roll or spray on bed liner kit notion. If you just have to have it done, take it to a professional shop and have it done. Brands like Line-X, Rhino liner, are worth the crazy money it costs. Or just find a FREE plastic bed liner on Craigslist and make it work.

Good read https://www.dualliner.com/blog/truck-bedliner-prices
