Thanks for reaching out. It came with a 1967 390 engine that I have completely rebuilt and installed so I can move it under its own power now. Took it to a custom exhaust shop and had dual exhaust put on. Now I'm just cleaning up parts while I'm waiting for the body shop to get it in for paint. So far turning out great. The body shop guy is an old Ford truck enthusiast which helps. He looked at the truck and was amazed at how nice it was and is excited to work on it.
DenWall, thanks for the reply. Right now I am in the long term planning stages of what to do with my Ranger. It is mostly original. Original paint (or whats left of it) original dents, of which there are a few, even one with some cracked and falling out bondo from probably thirty years ago. Not much rust, just patina. Floors are perfect, as are the cab corners. The only thing I think I will need to address is signs of some rust starting in the roof rails.
Anyway, I didn't want to steal the thread, but as one Ranger owner to another, I am looking forward to reading about and seeing pictures of your restoration when you feel up for posting any. Any other candy you wish to share would also be welcome. Transmission, upgrades, color...you know...candy.
Wow, that is looking awesome...well except for the damn Chevy pulling the trailer!!
OK, just kidding...I am not tied to any one brand, but as someone was probably thinking it, I thought I would write it for a laugh. Anyway, I am also practicing to be a grumpy old man, so please add the appropriate voice for the grumpy part.
Keep the photo's coming, it is really nice to see a Ranger getting the respect it deserves, and it is inspiration for when I get to finally do something with my Ranger. Thanks for sharing!!
Beautiful, beautiful truck. Paint looks awesome!! The aluminum radiator could be painted black to blend in a bit better. Eastwood makes a radiator black that is designed for the purpose. Front bumper is from a bumpside it looks like. Keep an eye out for a 1964-66 if you want to perfect that, too. Sweet, though...
Thanks all, The interior is not in yet. Neither is the windshield if you noticed. I was thinking of pulling the radiator to paint it black, thanks TA455HO on the paint info. The front bumper is a repro from NPD. I wasn't aware there were two styles. Evidently NPD does't either because thats the only one they offer. I'll update with more pictures as I continue to work on it over the next few months.
Pretty amazing, I keep coming back to look again and again, and dream a bit. Is the Black (which as you wrote, looks a mile deep) original color, or did you modify to your preference? My truck is WW and while I never thought I would go for white, it has grown on me. That said, I don't think that anyone can get that kind of depth with a white paint.
Regardless, looking forward to your next photo's and the Interior. Again, looking for inspiration.
Also, can you regale us with what other mods, if any, you have done or are planning?
I feel that white can look nice and deep and give very good reflections. When this car is outside in the sunlight it's almost too bright to look at without sunglasses and it's Cameo white so more of an antique white and not a bright white,
Ok, I stand corrected, that white looks pretty darn good. If and when I get to that stage, I will ask what type of paint and how many coats of clear.
I had originally thought of doing Wimbledon White with a touch of pearl on the clear coat, but then seeing some cars with that type of finish, I wasn't sure it wouldn't look a bit pimped out (not offence to any professional pimps out there). Then again that is a bit of a ways off right now.
How is the TA coming along? I assume that is the shiny finish throwing back some serious reflection?
Not appropriate to thread jack to discuss a Pontiac here. I was just sharing a picture of a white vehicle to give an idea of what it can look like.
Fair enough, I probably have unintentionally hijacked more threads without thinking about proper forum etiquette. I tend to forget when writing where I am, and like a squirrel, I think about a nut and run with it.

Black is the original color for this truck. I'm trying to keep the truck mostly original. The only thing not original to the truck is the engine. Like so many, it came to me with a 1967 390 in it. I decided to keep this engine and had it rebuilt.
