Drove around all day after the dealer check and still at 0. I was just thinking I only checked the dpf guage once in a great while during my 6k of driving. Sometimes it was at 30 or 35 and then it was 0 again. Possibly it was on 0 for most of my 6k miles and I didn't know it. This is nothing like the 17 that was very predictable. I can't imagine this truck ever being at 100% so I could do a manual regen like the 17.
Thinking of driving back the 350 miles with the rv and hope the truck doesn't reduce power. Then my local dealer can take a shot at this.
Well, the dealer you used where you are doesn't seem to want, or be able to do a proper diagnosis, so if you can get it back home, then that would probably be good, you wouldn't be stranded then.
Update. Selling dealer contacted Ford and was told to reprogram regen parameters and reset cel. Lasted a couple hundred miles and cel is back on. DPF is still on 0%. MPG at 12.5 empty. Have appointment at dealer on Tue to go to next solution. So far no sensors have been replaced. Dealer told me Ford tells them what to do after they report issue and that is what they have to do. Hopefully it will get fixed this time.
So recently mine has been stuck at 0%, although the iDash reads differently. However, I never rely on what aftermarket gauges say since the truck actually dictates when it goes into regen. But I know that my truck has not been going into an active regen because I have auto regen turned off. No codes have popped up, but not seeing it move from 0 has me on edge a little bit...
A little bit of history for my situation, I ran an active regen on mine a little over 2 weeks ago, then the next day I towed my camper home 700 miles and it passively regened the entire time. Needless to say, I was at 0% the entire time. About a week after towing is when I first noticed the DPF% was still at 0%, so I checked and re-enabled auto regen. Since it had been past the 500 mile mark that the truck is programmed for, the EGT's immediately started going up and according to my iDash, the regen activated... so despite that the truck read 0% I drove until the regen completed according to the iDash (about 15 miles) and then shut it down when EGT's were back to normal. When it was all done I turned the auto regen back off, so I know it hasn't regened since. I've probably got a little less than or right at 100 miles on the truck since that regen, but most all of my driving has been city driving... stop and go at red lights and not really high speeds. In the past, this amount of driving in these situations would have caused my DPF% to climb some by now...
So I don't know... maybe since I did a regen one day, then passively regened for 700 miles the very next day, and have now completed another active regen just due to the programmed mileage, maybe my filter is just really clean... but I will be really happy when I see the DPF change from 0 to 5%.
hopefully your DPF back pressure sensor is not clogged.
Update... Truck had two EGR sensors replaced and has the DPF% going up like it should, now at 70%. Also added the IDash guage and am now watching all related Temps which seem good now. The mpg has also returned to normal for a 450. I believe the sensors were bad during the first 6k miles and took that long to throw the CEL.
Hopefully it will be ok for the upcoming trips that are planned. Thanks for the above advice , some of it was spot on.
Truck has now done a proper regen.
Started when regen rg% hit 100. Regen continued after truck went back to 0% for a few miles. Truck appears to be ok now.
