I have had this code a couple times in the last few weeks, the first time the dealer performed the tsb 19-2343, they did it again the second time thinking maybe it just didn't take the first time. Well the light is back on again today for the 3rd time, probably less than 40 miles after getting it back. I don't know until taking it back to the dealer next week but I'm assuming it will be the same code again. Has anyone had this issue and actually had the problem resolved? I have researched it but haven't found much regarding the 2017 and newer trucks. My dealer has been good to work with all along, but I'm just trying to see if anyone else has dealt with this and how they got it resolved.
nxtdiesel, let me know how that goes. I have been recently getting the P0170 code on my 2017 F350 (77k miles). I did have the TSB performed, flashed/reprogrammed. I then took the truck and trailer on a week long trip with the family, 1,250 miles, no code. I get back, drive the truck 3 days to work (10 miles round trip) and the code comes back on. Anyone else have any luck with correcting the code even after the TSB had been performed?
They ended up putting a new MAF sensor in mine and the light actually came back on even after that. I took it back again and they ended up talking to someone at Ford who had them look into some other stuff, but in the end I don't believe they actually found anything wrong. They reset it and gave it back and told me to let them know if it came back on. I have probably put 1,500 miles or so on it and so far the light hasn't came back on.
How old are your batteries? Have you had them load tested in a while? Ever?
Low voltage and low amperage conditions really do weird things to these trucks. 1500+ miles with no light is good but next time you're at O'Reilly have them run a quick test on both batts.
Truck has the original batteries and will be 4yrs old in June. I never have had them tested but it sounds like a good idea. Next time I'm at one of the parts stores I may just have them test them. Thanks.
