i was just curious if anyone attempted to replace the bearings with the motor still in it, pulling it i know isnt that much more of a hassle, but if i can get away with skipping a few steps, it is a fresh motor that runs great til warm and it has a fresh bottom with .020 under on the crank grind and redone rods and bolts,
i suppose it would be kinda tight getting a torque wrench up there, and it probaly would just be the rod bearings needing replacement. only if the mains aren't as indestructabe as i thought. i have heard it can be done on some makes of vehicles anyway.
but torque n replacement/clearance/workspace isnt too bad? i had a friend do it on his s10 with a 350, and i heard explorers and contours having it done when i worked for a ford dealer, just thinking i guess if i dont have to rip the complete motor out a fifth time. also are clevite bearings marked on their backside for the size? much like stock bearings have a part number, i had it apart and reground and it was .010 and had to get done again to .020 but it was a year ago and i like most have a bad memory. but i forgot i shouldnt admit it...lol.
