So I have a 351W with 2150 carb. Noticed it was leaking gas. Ended up having it rebuilt locally by a shop that only does carb rebuilds.
It seems to run fine, no more leaks. Until I drove it.
Today I noticed it leaking again.
From watching youtube videos. I get that the gasket on the power valve can leak. Is there anything outside the carb that would cause this valve to leak? At one point, I was going to rebuild it and bought

I have a call into shop that rebuilt the carb to see what they say.
Where is it leaking? I don't see how the power valve leaking can cause an external leak. The accelerator pump diaphragm can cause a external leak, but that should be new.

The rebuilder found good clean gas in carb. Found gas on wrong side of the power valve. Replaced power valve.

That's good. But it would leak down into the engine, not externally? From your post I thought you were saying it was leaking externally out of the carb.

Yes. But this is what the guy that rebuilt the carb says.
I think I need to adjust carb for engine so it will idle properly, (mixure screws) and probably adjust timing because it has been pinging on acceleration under load. Once that is done, I will feel more confident taking it back to carb rebuilder a third time if it leaks again. I think he is good for it. He has an old bullnose sitting out front with black spot on hood. Said it was customer truck, and his rebuilt carb leaked and caught engine on fire. He told woman he would make it right and has installed new wiring harness from somewhere to fix burnt wiring. Says' something about him.
Says to me his rebuilds leak. I had the Motorcraft 2100 on the Jeep rebuilt by Guaranteed Carburetors five years ago. It has never leaked. I had one problem with it so I sent it back to them. About a week later I got the carb back with a picture of debris in the bowl. They did not charge me anything even though it had debris and wasn’t really a failure on their part.
