Alrighty someone is going to tear me a new one in this thread I can sense it but here it goes..
about a week ago I took the brake dust shield off of the F/R wheel, it was old and rusted out and pretty much fell off. A day or two later my abs light stayed on after startup and wanted to go away but re illuminated. Y’all think taking that part off could have damaged the wheel abs sensor? I hit it with a test light and it’s getting power.
I’ve already checked the brake fluid reservoir so that one is ruled out, topped it off just to see what would happen and drove around. I’m currently waiting on another Bluetooth scanner for the truck should be here tomorrow as per my last post some time ago.
found online the abs light coming on but there being no issues with the brake system can be a mystery on these trucks! To me it seems odd that the light came on after I took the shield off
I noticed my ABS light coming on as I was having issues with my alternator. As voltage dropped, on came the light. And vice versa. Replaced alternator and prob went away. So it seems the sensor is sensitive to voltage. Worth a quick check.
