ABS light came on
Cranked the truck up this morning, and before I got out of the neighborhood the ABS light came on. I didn't do any hard braking or anything like that, and the streets were dry. The light just stays on, no blinking. The O/D light is not flashing, the speedo works just fine, and the brake light is not on. There are also no stored codes. It sat for a couple of hours today, but driving again the ABS light stays on. There's no difference in how my truck stops (no pulsing, pulling, etc). Also there are no leaks at any of the calipers, and the fluid res is full.
Ideas??? or do I need to bite the bullet and take it to a shop.

Just a thought... My ABS light came on a couple of months ago and it had nothing to do with the ABS system. It was a wheel bearing seal that had become dislodged (as a precursor to my wheel bearing failing) and the ABS sensor is right there in the rotor so it triggered the light. If this is the same situation as you have, and you start hearing a chirping that turns into a grind, it is most likely your wheel bearing biting the dust. No way to prevent it or fix it without buying a new one. Hope this helps.
