Cool Stage 2 Diablo chip

I ordered the chip today and expect it to be in in about a week. I'm soooo friggin' excited that I finally get to order the thing! I can't wait to put it in and install it! I'll keep you all posted on the results. I'm hoping for 3 to 4 tenths off stock time. That plus the MAC Intake (which will come in the near future) will hopefully get me .5 clicks off! That's my goal anyways!

GAWD, I feel like a little kid opening presents for the first time!

Joe,

You sound just like me when I got my chip, remember???

I think your chip will actually get you better results than mine, because your truck is lighter. I would hope for a full half second dude. Don't be suprised if you get it.

turn your switch off and do 2 runs, then turn it on and do 2 runs. That's the best way to tell.

But you'll notice the difference as soon as you plug the thing in.

The only pain in the neck part is sanding your terminal down with that plastic brillo pad. It's a pain in the neck and you have to be real careful.

Enjoy. And thank your wife for us

You have to sand the connection? That's odd but oh well. I can live with it. It should be about 5 days.

Yes,

You will need a flat head screwdriver to help press the pad against the terminals on the underside of the board where you cant get your fingers into.

I don't care if I have to sand that thing for 3 hours! I'll be going crazy trying to put it in just so I can test it! I'm about the most impatient person there is these days. Woot.

I did the same thing with my chip. I had to pull it out 3 times before I actually took the time to get it right. Be patient my friend.

Beau:

I just ordered a chip for my truck (see truck type below) for 229.50. It's a Diablo Stage 2 chip. I'll let you know the results. Pretty much here are the option. You have a chip that comes with a switch. (see Toms NOS intall pics in his gallery)

You can run the chip stock, or you can run it at your area's higher octane gas level. The chip is best if ran on 93 octane gas, but most are programmed for 91 octane. Once you get the chip (assuming you get it), you'll need to run premium in your truck to get the full performance of it. Also, what is the Octane reading for your area? These are essential elements in establishing how much performance the chip will give you. My truck w/93 Octane = 19 hp/even more torque.

I'm pretty sure that it is 93. One of my good friends have a chevy with a Diablo power programmer and he has to run 93 octane...so im guessing thats what it is.

Wow, it's nice to see that someone actually views my gallery.

Joe,

Take out those platinum plugs that came with your truck. I just found out that they come stock with our trucks.

After you get your chip, replace your platinums with Autolite #764
s and gap them at .035.

This comes straight from Talley.
