I have a 2002 F-250 5.4L V-8 CCLB 4WD (225,000 miles) and I need some extra MPG if I can squeeze it out of this pig. Weighing a slight 6146, she likes her gasoline straight from the tanker truck. Besides changing out the spark plugs, and PCV valve and cleaning the Throttle body, what else can a guy do to get some extra MPG? Fuel injectors are originals too. Would anyone ever change these if they function properly? Truck is not showing any codes.

Reason: grammatical error
Driving styleSpeedCheck brakes to see they are dragging
Tire air pressure
Go to a less aggressive tire (also make sure tires are the right size)
Try a few tanks of top tier fuel

Get an "economy" tune. Lower it and add air dams. Reduce weight. Reduce parasitic drag - dragging brakes, bad wheel bearings, old u joints, skinnier tires,etc.. Most of the stuff you can do will cost more to implement than it will save you.
You're still never gonna get better than 15mpg out of it. The 5.4 was under powered for a reg cab short bed, never mind a CCLB. It's just gonna work too hard to move it and keep it moving
