Battery Saver mode. HELP!

Battery Saver mode. HELP!
2014 F350 Diesel.
Went to pickup my truck from Discout tire after tire rotation.
Started to pull out of parking lot and all dash lights came on, radio goes out. Message , Shutting down, battery saver mode.
I shut the truck off. No power, Can't shift out of park or put windows out.
Sitting in parking lot. Bad part of town and waiting on a big enough tow truck.
Please help.
I think a direct short.
I don't see anything obvious.

Both battery's are good. I put my meter on it. Short to ground with both battery's disconnected.
If I try to hook a battery up it starts drawing it down instantly. No lights come on,
Something is shorted out that most likely isn't fused. Otherwise the fuse would go.
I'm thinking alternator or starter. Going to disconnect one thing at a time with my meter on it.

Bad alternator.
Unhooked the alternator and reconnected the batteries and finally put my windows up.
Checked with meter before hooking up batteries and the short is gone.
Now to find a alt. on a holiday weekend.
