Hello all, I'm having an issue 😕 on a vibration can't pin down.
New rotors New pads New rear brakes drums shoes, New cyclenders, new front bearings, had an alignment done 3 weeks ago they said no issues 😳.
Now I've done everything to this truck since I'm 2nd owner crate 5.0 engine in 2008 150,000 trucks got maybe 200,000 .
Just installed new performance wires cap rotor coil egr and switch, sensors New, removed smog pump no catts, shorter strap 94 1/2 inch, but 30 to 45 mph vibration, then smooths out at 42 decelerate below 40 vibration begins below 30 mph smooth, then accelerate passed 30 vibration starts ends at 40 to 42 mph any ideas or point me please also yesterday was checking tab and tad unplugged one at a time no cell light could this cause a vibration?? .
New parts doesnt always mean good parts. I measure all new brake parts when they come off the shelf. Its not unusual to find rotors with 0.050" of total run out, or out of balance. If you dont wanna chase vibrations for months, buy motorcraft parts for anything that spins. The dealerships cant afford to have customers bring back their vehicles for warranty work, so parts are expensive, but they work correctly out of the box.
Rotating the tires is free and easy and always my first step when investigating a vibration. U-joints are next. Crawl under your truck and push the driveshaft up and down and left and right. the u-joints in the caps shouldnt move more than 0.01". Download a vibration App for your phone and lay it on the floorboard while you feel the vibration. The Frequency can pin-point where to look.
got it up on stands at smog pump now having issues getting back bolt off my pulley and brkt came in doing this because not satisfied just taking pulley off and shorter strap and the annoying squeel is reminded me of a scene from dueling banjo when the guy was getting it from behind squealing like a pig but soon as I get thiz done iwas gunna raise the rearend up on Jack stands and check the situation out i had new heavy duty u joints put in about 2009 but had a rearend swap 2 years ago not sure on the flang and yoke is I hope that's it I've put alot into this ride over 15 years to stop now trying to stay original as I can. Need help and appreciate all the input to make this possible.
I changed my plugs some how I had sp 502 A platinum motor craft 4 on the right side I had 402 c o. The left side but I swapped them out with motorcraft sp 502x Platinum Nickel plated tips the Vibration stopped and its a monster power house machine who would have thought plugs could make that much difference.
