Gauges for fuel/oil pressure, temperature
Hi all,
I have a 1990 E350-based RV.
In 2019 I installed a GlowShift dual pressure gauge to read the pressure on the fuel rail and oil pressure. Also installed a dual temperature sensor gauge to read engine coolant temperature and transmission fluid temperature.
Both gauges are behind a 2 amp fuse.
About a year after the installation, I was disconnecting the battery and there were some intermittent sparks. After this the temperature gauge was dead. Glowshift replaced under warranty.
Last weekend I went to get the RV out of storage and I noticed the battery was dead and both gauges were dead. My guess is that my battery disconnector was making partial contact and eventually stuck contacted and so drained the battery. Also I guess the intermittent contact fried the gauges, in spite of being behind 2 amp fuses.
I've read lots of bad things about Glowshift and how they tend to die after a year or two.
Are there any alternatives to Glowshift for electrically-sensored gauges? I do not want mechanical gauges.
Thanks,
