Yes sir, I'm now getting 12.1 city & 16 hwy. Before the flash I was getting 16 city & 19-20 hwy. It is more responsive off the lline but seems to have less power after that.
I had the Oct flash about a week ago. It took care of the rough idle but didn't seem to do anything for gas mileage. I'm still getting around 16.5-17 highway/city. And I did the math. Can't complain!
I had my 03 6.0L reflash in Oct lost of power and fuel went to ______! Was getting 18 hwy and 16 city NOW 14 hwy & 12 city Took it to two different dealers and said it was fine. So the ford Rep. says there is no more they can do truck is fine. Trust me it's not same truck I paid 40K for. LOOKING for good Attorney. Anyone want to join in? Portland Or.
Gentlemen,
Had been getting about 15.8 mpg before flash. Last tankful was 14.7. Better lowend power and accel. I'll wait a few more tankfuls before I really start to **** and moan. I will let Ford customer service know my feelings when I send in their survey for my last service.
Cheers,
Bryce
PS
Handcalculated mileage since truck was new.
Don't even bother with overhead display.
I sent a polite, factual summary of my experience in email to the service manager at the dealer after talking to the service writer and getting his concurrence. I asked them to speak to the Ford area tech rep.
They did and called me back today and asked me to bring it in tomorrow morning. Their diesel mechanic had reported some latest reflashes causing 3-5mpg reduction in fuel economy.
They are going to "reflash" my truck. I have upgraded firmware on many computer systems and know if you don't do it right, you can get some strange and even disasterous results. Maybe there is a procedural error on reflashing these things that causes the loss of fuel economy and lower performance.
I know alot of people have found their overhead average mpg fuel readout to be inaccurate. Evertime I fill up I do the math (have for years on various vehicles) and I have found mine to be with in .5 miles per gallon.
