I think I'm going to add Katzkin leather to my XLT crew cab truck, and figured that while I'm in there, I'll add seat heaters. Searched, but didn't find too much here on the forum -
Anyone done this on a 2017+ super duty? (and hopefully 2020+, as my truck is a 2022). Tips, tricks? Things I'm particularly interested in are:
1) What seat heater kit to use? Rostra seems to be pretty common for aftermarket kits.
2) Where to tap power for the heaters? Switched (ignition keyed on/off), ideally. Even more ideal would be if there's a factory wiring harness already in place for the heaters...
3) Where to mount the heater control switch?
Thanks in advance for any info that anyone who's done this can provide.
I added seat heaters to mine also. I used a Katzkin leather kit and a seat heater kit I got off Amazon. I put the heater elements in the bottom and back of the seats and wired them to come on together. It's a regular hi/lo/off switch and, right now, I just have a hot wire coming off the battery. I need to redo my wiring so it will cut off with the ignition.
