Aftermarket heated seat to factory buttons
Hey all, new to the superduty section. Just picked up an 08 f350 lariat. As is common neither of my seat heater elements work. I have a set of Wet Okole seat covers that came off my last 08 super duty, because it was an XLT I ordered Okole's heated seat option (cig lighter switch). Well now I've got this lariat that already has the buttons on the dash. I'm wondering if it would be worth my time to wire my Okole heaters into the dash button somehow to get rid of all the cord and consumption of two cig lighters? Or would it be easier to simply fix the Busted heat element? Thanks in advance.

Great question, I was just searching here for the same thing. My Lariat seats in my Excursion are thrashed, and I don't really want to pay for new leather/vinyl and reskin the seats, so I was also thinking of adding Wet Okole seat covers with the heater, and wiring them to my factory seat heater switch.
I think the factory seat heaters are questionable with age so I thought this was a good approach.

While I don't live in cold country, I do like using the seat heater for my lower back on long trips, but I don't like sitting on a seat heater. I e-mailed Wet Okole about being able to disconnect the seat bottom portion of the seat heater. Here's their response:
Yes you can, the power controller for the heaters can be disconnected for the bottom pad. Also the heating pad is only attached with a Velcro strip, so you can also remove the pad from the seat cushion if you do not want it there.
