Looking for door part: driver's vent window inside frame
I have all the new/remanufactured parts for both vent windows, but nobody makes the actual frame where the vent window seals fit into and the window frame pivots on.
Fabricating it is tricky, on the second go I still couldn't get it to close. The part number for all trucks 61-72 is 21408.
The previous owner removed it and glued the vent window in place with silicone. I tried to fabricate it by reverse engineering the passenger side part, but it's not close enough, seals don't fit or stay in place and it won't close all the way.
21408 is just the base number for the passengers side. It was used from 1942-1985. Drivers side is 21409. But, the base number only leads to the list of part numbers and then you use the Applications list to determine which exact full part number is correct for our era.
The part number for 1961-1966 trucks is
C1TB-8121409-A
The part number is the same for 1967-1969 large trucks (i.e. 800-1100 series) since they used the same cab and doors.
For 1967-1972 at least for F100-F750 the part number was
C7TZ-8121409-A
If you buy one of these for 1967 and newer it won't fit. Door is a different shape.
Try Michael at Obsolete Reliable. He usually hasn't updated his inventory so it may or may not be correct. He shows one in stock.
No, that's all the vent window parts. I'm talking about the part that's in the door that has the upper pivot riveted to it.
The doors guts I've taken apart, which has been mostly 1966, the pivot bracket isn't rivetted to that frame. The pivot bracket is a separate part number different for left and right side as well and is held to the frame by two small Phillips head screws. Here's a picture of the RH pivot. The LH one all I have is a picture of the box it's in at the moment. I only mention this since if your original pivot is rivetted to your original frame you may either need to remove it and affix it to the replacement frame or get the separate bracket and the screws from somewhere and use them. All of the NOS frames I've seen do not have the pivot bracket installed.
Brian Morrison at Slick Truck Parts in OR will have it it you are still in need... https://slicktruckparts.com I think he is currently on vacation until the middle of the month but he has a great inventory and ships worldwide...
