TPMS Harness Routing/Yaw Sensor Install

Hello,

I have a new 5th wheel and have routed the trailer camera/TPMS/yaw sensor harness into the front storage compartment. I plan on mounting the TPMS receiver inside the compartment.

Two questions:
1. Any recommendations on where to bring the plug out for attaching to the rear bumper receptacle? I hate drilling holes, but see 3 options: drill a hole in the front of the compartment, drill a hole in the bottom of the compartment, or fish the harness through the body into the pin box. The last option is not readily doable with my trailer, per the factory tech. I have purchased an electrical cable hatch for routing through a hole, but am squeamish about drilling a large hole without getting opinions.

2. Can the yaw sensor be mounted in the same compartment? This way there is no need to bring the yaw pigtail out of the compartment which compounds my issue, and complicates hook-up. If not, any thoughts on where to mount?

Thanks
Rich

Morning, I just read your post. I routed my harness from the truck into the pin box mounting hole and into the front compartment, other wise, you'd have to route on the outside. Ive done that before but it doesn't look very good. I had to unscrew the under body panel where the pin box mounts so it will sag. I then used an aluminum flat bar to slide that towards the pin box from inside the front compartment. You have to find a route that will not be compressed when the body panel is screwed back up. I then fished the cable from the pin into the compartment. From the compartment, I went outside into the well area of the landing gear then down along the frame and underneath the trailer. That is where I mounted my TPMS sensor for best reception. I do not have a yaw sensor so I have no input for that. Fishing the cable from the pin into the front compartment took the longest. Hope this helps.

Thanks for the info. I might give that a try when I can dedicate a couple days (I'm a slow DIYer). Right now i am running the cable from the underbelly to the bumper, and suspending it with a small rope to keep it from dragging the road. But you're right, looks like *****!
