460 Misfiring
I had cracked the radiator and blew the head gasket in the mountains. Overheated back into town and let it sit until I saved up to take it to a shop to get the heads looked at. While it was at the shop, they replaced the cylinder heads with new iron heads (idk the specs), new exhaust manifold, distributor cap, plugs, and wires. I also replaced the radiator and the water pump myself.
Since I got it back from this shop, it felt like it was in limp mode (slow/jerky gearshifts, low power, etc.). The cat converter was stolen at the shops yard but the truck is manufactured in 96 so it is not OBD1, meaning there’s no missing O2 sensor. Fuel pressure was right where it needed to be when I tested it, but I replaced the regulator anyways. I also replaced the front-tank fuel pump a year ago. Also, I made sure to separate the plug wires so I don’t get any cross firing.
I am pretty lost on where to start any further diagnosis. Anybody have any guidance?
Does your truck have air injection? My truck is a 95 F350 (OBD1). In the red is where my only O2 sensor is located as well as the air injection tube for the cat. If they cut the cat and you have air injection that could be an issue?
You probably have a rash of codes
Try to put it back to stock with a cat and a rear HEGO and see what happens with the codes and the drivability concern
Good luck
