alright 2004 ford excursion issue is will not start when turn the key all it does is click. so i started by checking batts but they tested good so i moved on to the starter and just went ahead and replaced it with the 6.7 new. still the same thing so i went to all ground wires both of the batts wires were good and the ground strap at fire wall is good the only one i found broken was body to frame. now im at a loss.
Get a meter and see if you are getting voltage at the starter. Big wire will always have 12v, little red wire to solenoid will have 12v when key is turned to start.. If you have all that, check the voltage drop to the big wire to make sure you are not dropping below 10v when key is start position. If below 10v replace battery, if above the replace starter.
If you dont have the proper voltage then report back and we can go from there.

Which power plant? I'm assuming you have a 6.0L engine given you installed the 6.7L starter. I know on the 7.3L engines the nose cone has to be swapped for the 6.7L starter to work...not sure if that's the same for the 6.0L if that's what you have...
I chased this the other day, my issue was when I wired my alternator to my starter solenoid I used a 3/8 electric ratchet and cracked the the solenoid housing, but this step by step video walked me through everything and I did have to replace quite a few old crusty wires but today no more issues.
