Don't even mess with it, could be sensor, bad bag...
Striaght from theor web page: Ford's safety restraint warranty covers the seatbelts and all airbag systems for 5 years/60,000 miles.
And their warrnty PDF: (2) Your vehicle’s safety belts and air bag Supplemental Restraint System (SRS) are covered for an extended Safety Restraint Coverage Period, which lasts for five years or 60,000 miles, whichever occurs first.
The light came on because the computer detected a fault in the system. The light went off because the computer ran
through a pre-determined number of "cycles" and didn't detect the fault again. That being said, the fault may reoccur.
It will be interesting to see if the airbag system retains the fault code information after having cleared the light. Let us know, if you would, what the dealership scan shows.
Howdy,
My truck will be at the Ford dealership on Monday to check on the airbag light…. which is now off.
Maybe it stored a code and the can fiddle with the connection. Usually, they will say, no code, no problem, and it will be a wasted trip. It is no win, good luck. If it wasn't such an important code (imo), I'd cancel and wait for it to reappear, if it does. Good news, it will be documented in the system.

Even though the airbag light is now off, I’m still going to take it into the dealership on Monday so this issue is documented while still under warranty.
I have read that light/fault can be caused by the clock spring.
I would make sure all the other buttons on the steering wheel are functioning correctly.
Other than that, I wouldn't worry about it to much since the fault went away.
Howdy,
Today, the Ford dealer notified me the airbag restraint control module is bad. Seems a little odd to me that an electronic component would suddenly stop working, start working and stop working again?
