music downloads: good sites?
(Other Bower here)
I just downloaded itunes and so far it's great. They have a version for Windows now. The site recommended high-speed connections for downloads, but even with dialup it didn't take too long. Plus you don't have to have those certificate forms, you can make as many copies as you want after you buy the song(s).
I tried MusicMatch and I didn't like it, and Kazaa was full of spyware. What music sites do you all use, and how do you like them?

No, Kazaa and Kazaa Lite are both loaded with spyware and virus' I am a computer administrator for the Army, and I can tell you that we don't allow anything that has been on the same system (if it can be helped or known) as Kazaa or Kazaa Lite on our systems.
They have a form of virus protection but it is crap, one of those "personal safety" ploys. If you use it and download any programs or software, make sure that have a good Antivirus program of your own, because you will need it!
That and Kazaa is where have been getting into trouble for downloading music because of all the spyware's nasty little tricks

Yes, David.Brady, Kazza lite has spyware as does most if not all anti-virus software. I run Norton systemworks in addition to a neat trick I learned while completing MCSE or MCSA cert., can not recall which time I found this, I run adaware and spybot seek and destroy. The two find everything including each others spyware, kinda neat. But they prevent everything else, at least on our setup at work.
