Hello all,
I picked up a 73 F100 with the 302 for my son. I recently rebuilt the motor craft 2100 with the electric choke. Now, when I crank the track, it has high rpm's, no tach, just sound. As the electric choke opens, the truck begins to rough idle and die. I've tried to look around in here to see if there are threads, as I am sure there are, but I cannot seem to find them. As a novice, what should I adjust to settle it in?
Thanks,
Is it a factory assist electric choke or aftermarket full electric? Hate to keep banging a gong but it's all in the Ford factory shop manuals, get an original shop worn one on the bay, 5 or 6 manuals to cover everything for your year. Try for a complete set.
Thanks guys. I was thinking possibly the idle air mixture screw. Now I see how to adjust and how to adjust the primary idle screw as well.
I will also look for some shop manuals on the bay. I never even thought about that. I was just going by the Chilton's and my old memory. I will hopefully have time to get out there tomorrow and give it a try. I will let you know when I do.
Thanks again!
