Adjust electric choke

ok here’s the problem, and this makes me wish I had a manual choke. The electric choke makes the truck rev up higher than needed. I’ve gone online and tried to find out how I can fine tune it to work a little better. Right now when the choke is on the truck stays at 20,000 rpm’s which is way too much. I would like it to choke at 15,000. How do I get this done?

Here's a good write up on adjusting an electric choke:

If you have a Motorcraft 2100 or 2150 the procedurce should be the same. What truck do you own?

BTW, surely you made a typo. The only engine I know of that revs 15k - 20k rpm is a small 2 stroke engine on a weed eater or a chainsaw.

I apologize in advance for a brief hijack, but I see the opportunity to share a bit of historical data which might be appreciated by some [I hope so]. And, this might tip off my age... back in 1963, motorcycle manufacturer HONDA made a 2 cylinder 50cc 4 cycle racing motorcycle. It was called the RC114 and produced 14 brake horsepower @ 19,000 rpms. The redline was 20,500 and the engine would tolerate brief bursts to 23,000 rpms. The power band was so narrow that a 9 speed transmission was used.

Depends on what carb you have, don't even know the engine you have. But with most, over on the pass side in the choke area there is a fat idle cam, and a adjustable screw to adjust the fast idle rpm.
