I have been replacing the glass in my driver side front ventilating window and had the usual issue of rust in the bracket once I was able to get the glass out. I have cleaned it up with steel wool and a new coat of Rust-oleum. The new glass in and it looks about the same as my passenger door's. My question is the weatherstripping that goes in the other bracket that the window pivots in (I am not straight on the actual nomenclature of this bracket). My question is this - What is the best way to hold the rubber in the bracket? Gorilla glue? The one I replaced was so old I cannot tell if there was something holding it in. The rubber was so hard and brittle it broke into pieces.
Originally, the glass was held in the frame with "glass setting tape". A Google search will turn up tons of sources and thickness to chose from. The weatherstrip is held in without anything when assembled as already noted.
