Just doing the side glass and seals on Sketchy now, but I'm stumped as to how the vent window frame/glass comes apart.
The only reference image i've found is this one of a stainless unit, and it differs quite a bit. I seem to have a second bracket clamping the small spacer on, and I lack the "retainer" part as far as i can tell. Both sides are original and identical.
I'm assuming this just supposed to slide out once the top pivot is undone, but perhaps it's just dead seized with rust. I've been turning it looking for a keyed exit, tapping it with a rubber mallet etc. It just doesn't want to budge and I really don't want to ruin my brand new glass via brute force.
I really need to get this junk done ASAP so any help would be appreciated.
I snorted hard on that line.
I was about to reply to you that it might be a bit of rust expansion that needed some persuasion but then read about the violence. Oh, man I've had many of those moments. Pound, beat, pound pound beat - zing something goes flying down the driveway or across the garage. "well that worked!"
Keep up the progress, and let us know the about next advancements.
