72 2wd core support

Hey everyone
i have a 72 f100 2wd with a 302.
i am in need of a core support.
from what i have read here i know many interchange but the any i can find from parts houses has a 26-1/2 wide opening.
my core support opening has measurements of24-3/4 wide. 18 tall

Bolt centers 25-5/8 wide. 11” tall

is this something out of the norm? It has a 2 row radiator which looks to be in the original mounts if it has been changed.
can anyone help identify the core support i need?
based in the ones in parts houses I’d have to change radiator too in order to bolt up

Little more info

The radiator has a sticker on it that states. Mod. 433395 which i think is standard. So do i need the wide bracket for the drivers side to fit the core supports readily available with the wider bolt locations?
i read about them on a post here about the generations of radiators.

If i recall correctly, the rad support opening is measured like a TV, from top corner to opposite bottom corner. Looks to me like you have the 26-1/2 one your saying is the common one they sell.
dont quote me on it but maybe something to look at. Hope it helps

Thumbs up Radiator core support

Try Dennis Carpenter. I bought one and it fitted up with no problems.

The opening for the radiator is 26.5 inches on the standard core support, atleast on mine. I just measured it. The main difference is how the radiator mounts to the core support. The super cooling radiator mounts to fins and the standard radiator mounts flush to the core support.

Thanks guys for the help.
I had been looking at Denise Carpenter one and actually called the support line. I would love to get from them but it I can't be sure about the opening.
My radiator has small flanges on each side and I believe if the 26-1/2 wide support is standard, then I would need a bracket to add to the drivers side of the radiator so it will mount to the support.
Has anyone seen this before? I hate to buy a new radiator and shroud since the one I have is good.

In the pic I posted, to the right of the opening and mounting bolts, there are 2 holes that would be correct I believe to have the 26-1/2 opening. Fella from DC told me the bolt centers but I forget what they are now.
When I measure the width from the pass side bolts to the blank holes, it matched what he told me. So it makes me think I have a smaller opening support than most.

@Kenny and @1browski, can either of you take a pic or too of your rad, shroud etc.

Thanks fe390pc, I took a look and if I could find a decent 73-79 I'd do the same. Interesting how that could interchange. Looks like those supports have a wider opening.
I did see in a tech article there are several different shrouds for these year models. I may just have to bite the bullet and by the support, then get or adapt my radiator/shroud to it

Now that I look at the pic I posted more, I can see that the hole in the support is one sided based on the hood latch location. Its wider toward the passenger side.
So, the standard support would be even on each side. That means my Radiator and shroud can be used if I can add to the mount on the drivers side to extend to the wider hole location.
If I cannot do that, then that means a radiator and shroud to fit the new support. I looked at the new shroud from DC and if the picture is accurate, the shroud is wider toward the driver side so the Radiator would be too compared to what i have now.
In looking for radiators, it seems to be difficult to find one for this 302. I-1/2 inlet and 1-3/4 outlet.

in your picture i can see drivers side portion of the shroud is wider than the drivers to allow meeting the fan correctly. As it turns out i think i have a 6 cylinder support and radiator although the truck is a 302. Who knows why. Just ford i guess.
so either i have to extend the mount over on the drivers side to meet the new support or buy a standard 302 radiator and shroud.
man what a bummer but it is what it is.
I really appreciate the advice and pics y’all

Seems I have the 6 cylinder core support and radiator. Ordered the support yesterday, so I'll figure what to do with radiator and shroud.
Thanks for all help!
