For some of us, that's not news. Police in small communities have done that for years. They "round up" the street people, and "dump" them in The Big City. San Francisco has it's own program, where the homeless are given a 1-way bus ticket to somewhere else. SF literally tells homeless people, "get out", and, "here's a Greyhound ticket to go anywhere else". SF is not the only city to do that. Many cities across the country give bus tickets to the homeless.

We spent the day over in HMB (Princeton mostly). Walked around the pier and around stuff. Had lunch at HMB Brewing Co. SO and I had the fish tacos (although she got shrimp in hers). Also had the fried artichoke appetizer (split 3 ways). There was way too much food, but it was very good.
Especially when it looks like this one. I took this photo this morning when I took it to my favorite (read cheapest gas station in town) gas station. You can't see it in the photo, but across the street at the smog check station is a bunch of teenage Asian girls from a dance group having a car was for donations. Naturally I just HAD to take the car there for its first car wash. And since I never carry money on me, I had to go across town to the bank and withdraw some. Darn, more miles on the car. LOL The Challenger I wanted was a 2014 100th Anniversary model and was knocked down to $28995. With taxes, DMV fees and what not, it came to over $32k. This was "only" $22.500. After some judicial financial wizardry, I was able to buy it. However, as usual I am already regretting it. I should have known better when the finance guy came over and said "If the bank calls, you make $5,400 a month?!?! They gave me $1,000 for the Stratus in trade., And I had to put $2k each on my two remaining credit cards that were at zero. So, with $5,000 down, my payments are $400 a month, and my insurance went up from $74 a month to $133 a month. However, one thing I totally forgot was that now, I have two extra monthly payments to credit cards I had kept at zero to use in case or emergencies. The Stratus was not broken or screwed up in any way. And I had no payments. I should have just told the finance guy to forget the whole thing. However, I didn't. This car is the RT version, but with Hellcat wheels and tires, a different rear wing then the standard RT models had for that year, and a louder exhaust with diffusers below the bumper. The hood was touted as being carbon fiber, but after looking at it, if anything, it looks more like fiberglass. It has some miner scratches (like right above the front license plate) but it has the 5.7-liter Hemi, an 8-speed auto trans, power everything, window tint, and the AC is ice cold. The car has no key. I just put my foot on the brake and push the button, as long as the key FOB is nearby.
It even had the owner's manual in the glovebox, which I specifically wanted, as I am going to need it to figure out all the electric gizmos in it. This isn't a car, it is a rolling computer. And the Hemi pushes my body into the seat when I accelerate hard. I was sold. I signed at the bottom line, and all the other places they have you sign, and took it home last night. They even filled the gas tank up to 50%. Since it was on E I was glad for that but should have asked them to fill it completely. Anyway, it had 94,448 miles on it, and I have put about 18 miles on it already. I had only put 3,000 miles on the Stratus in 15 months, but I have a feeling I will put more on this one. Especially since it is going to require me to get a part time job to come up with the extra cash needed. My original plan was to look for a Challenger (or Maverick if they weren't marked up too high) in two years when the debt consolidation loan was paid off. That would eliminate the $387 a month payment. Had I stuck to that plan, the extra $13 a month could be absorbed. Maybe even the increase in the insurance. But nope, my impulse buying curse struck again, and now I am worried I might not make enough at Door Dash, or Uber Eats, to cover all the extra bills. Grrr. sometimes I can just kick myself. Don't get me wrong, I love the car, but it was a want, not a need, and I get the sinking feeling, it may be short lived, if I can't make the payments, and the bank repossesses it. I thought about being an Uber driver, but my daughter told me to do the Door Dash, or Uber Eats thing instead because it was safer. No chance of the food robbing me and stealing my car. I hope I can make $20 a night so I can get the extra $400 needed per month. Of course, I have to take out my own taxes too, so maybe $30 a night would be a better goal. I am still disabled, and don't even know if I can handle the extra walking and such, but I can't think of anything ese to try for the amount I need to make per month. Anyway, what do you all think of my new car?
