Hey y'all. Been lurking around on here for a while and finally decided I better join in! There is a ton of good info on here and hopefully I can provide some of my own. We recently bought a 2005 Excursion for our newest "toy" (also playing with a '95 Bronco). We love it so far and are making a few changes to make it our own. I'm gonna have some questions!
Hopefully I loaded the pic correctly. It's a 2005 EB, 4WD, 4" lift, 6.0 (yes, "bullet-proofed"), 151K miles. It's actually in very good shape and runs great. The previous owner had chrome on the door handles and gas filler door. I got those off the first day. We are keeping these tires (only have 1,000k on them) but will be selling the wheels soon. The -44 offset just sticks out too far for my liking.
Texas is a big place, I'm in central-ish Texas myself (the greater San Antonio area). Heck of a find with only 151K miles. Most of the ones I looked at (including the one I bought) were 200K or 300K + miles on the diesels

We know the folks who owned this for the last 4-5 years. Been patiently waiting for them to sell. I've been researching these things for years and knew that if they ever wanted to sell this one we would jump on it. We are a little north of you up in Leander.

Welcome to the forum! My fairly new to me oxford white EX also came with chrome door handles and gas filler door...fugly. Your white handles look nice and match the finish well. Can you share where you sourced the parts? I'd like to do the same.
Thanks in advance,

No sourcing of parts needed for mine. The chrome was just stuck on there. Just had to carefully pull it all off. Then had to remove the sticky residue. Well, that's how the gas filler door and three door handles were. The driver's door handle is a chrome replacement, so I had to order a black one that I will just paint.

Did your handle look like mine below? If so, do I just start picking at a corner and peel it off? Mine seems to be more of a molded shell than a thin film.

Yes. That's exactly how three of mine were. They were a little tricky but once I got them started they came off easy enough. You will need some highly intricate tools: a big plastic spoon from the kitchen, and some popsicle sticks. I pried as best that I could with the spoon then shoved a popsicle stick under it. Then moved the spoon a little and kept up the process. After getting the sticky residue off you could not tell that chrome junk had ever been on there. Caution...this will pretty much ruin the spoon. Sorry, I can't help you with the keypad thing.
